General JC Stage Stop Rules
Welcome! We want everyone to enjoy all that we love about JC Stage Stop. Here are guidelines that need to ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment:
- Domestic and wild animals are located on and around the property and JC Stage Stop recommends that guests be aware of these animals and keep a safe distance between them and themselves. Guests are not to interact with animals that are not owned by the guest. Guests should not enter stalls or pens with livestock not owned by the guest.
- The area north of the main house and shop where the owner’s livestock is off-limits to guests.
- No smoking allowed in any of the buildings, including vapes. Smoking in general is discouraged due to fire hazards and is only allowed in designated areas on the gravel surface. Cigarette butts must be discarded in the appropriate containers.
- No Campfires allowed at all- No exceptions. We have a community fire pit located near the main house for the use of all the guests of the resort. This fire pit is gas-fired for convenience and safety including a large concrete pad and benches around it.
- Gas Grills for the cabins are for guests renting that cabin and are to remain where they are located for fire prevention.
- All guest facilities have a fire extinguisher located inside them. Please use the extinguisher if the necessity arises.
- A first aid kit, fire extinguishers, emergency phone numbers, and a landline phone are available and located in the Trading Post next to the shower facilities. Please notify Steven (605-644-6689) or Liz (605-440-1035) (owners) right away if there is an emergency.
- No pets allowed in the Trading Post, shower house, or public building spaces. Pets are required to be on a leash at all times or in a kennel. JC Stage Stop appreciates pet owners cleaning up after their animals.
- Do not flush feminine products down the toilets.
- Pets staying with guests require approval by management at the time of reservation. No exceptions!
- UTV use is limited to JC Stage Stop owners. Guests may use their own UTV to travel from campsite to public roadways at their own risk.
- Regular guests (not horse riders) are asked to stay away from the corrals/ horse stall/ horse boarding areas.
- Guests who ride/ hike the trails on the property and venture out further on the neighboring state land are asked to be aware of the potential hazards that can exist in the forest and rolling hills and be prepared. Riders and Hikers participate in these activities “at their own risk”.
- Take a map, compass, or GPS- don’t get lost. Phone service is unreliable at best but improves at higher elevations.
- Know the property boundaries and stay in areas where you have permission for access.
- Bring water and supplies for yourself. Limited water is available for your horse once you leave the property.
- Ride/ Hike with a friend- don’t go alone.
- Please remove all garbage and place it in the blue dumpster located on the main driveway entrance/exit from JC Stage Stop.
- Please park vehicles and trailers on paved or gravel surfaces only, not on grassy areas.
