JC Stage Stop Rules for Horses and Mules
Welcome! We want everyone to enjoy all that we love about JC Stage Stop. Here are guidelines to ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment:
- No stallions of any age permitted.
- A negative Coggins test and health certificate are required for all horses or mules.
- A brand permit is necessary to leave the Brand inspection area of Wyoming:
- Permanent Brand inspection that is recognized in all States can be obtained in SD.

- Certified weed-free hay is required if brought with you and is available for purchase on-site. We also have locally produced hay for sale that can be used on our property.
- You are responsible for feeding/watering/cleaning stalls/general care of your animal.
- Only the owners of a horse are allowed in their stall or to handle that horse.
- All riders are required to sign a liability waiver upon check-in with your horses.
- Rider assumes all risk of injury while participating in any activity related to their horse.
- Riders using the JC Stage Stop round pen or arena are using these facilities for their activities “at their own risk”.
- Helmets are recommended for riders.
- Stalls will be cleaned/picked daily and thoroughly before departure. An additional fee will be assessed to anyone who does not clean their stalls or leave manure at the hitching rails.
- Please tack at the hitching rails not at your trailer.
- No horses allowed to be tied at any campsites (including houses, cabins, RV sites, and tent sites). Please be respectful of other guests when riding by other campsites. Any damage incurred by a rider will be assessed to the rider.
- Dogs must be on a leash throughout the campground, at your own risk of being loose while riding. Dogs that are determined to be a nuisance will be asked to leave or be fully confined during their stay.
